So WAY back last year, right before BlogHer, Ford Motor Company sent me an email asking me if I wanted to tour their facility. It sounds kinda like something you’d be all, “Aunt Becky? At an auto plant? What the hell?” but really, I love cars. I come from a car family. I mean, I can’t like FIX them or anything, but cars are something I’m actually kinda interested in.
I jumped at the chance. The facility tour was full of the win. I’d never been inside any sort of factory before (wait, no, that’s not true, I’d been to Bemis, which was also cool, because hi, TOILET SEATS!), and seeing all of the components and machines made me want to go and build a robot. Or three. Probably not what Ford had in mind, but they did read my blog before they invited me, so there’s that.
I walked away with this: Ford actually gives a crap about what people want in a car. Also: I need a bunch of robots.
When I was contacted this summer to conduct an interview with a Ford Expert for Blog Talk Radio, I couldn’t resist. I mean, I love hearing myself speak, AND I got to talk about cars again. This really was a win for me.
So, I asked my readers at Mommy Wants Vodka some questions to ask the Ford Expert, Cristina Rodriguez, the Vehicle Dynamics Development Engineer for Ford Motor Company about car maintenance, and gave an interview to Ford’s Expert. During a tornado. Really, it was full of the awesome.
The Podcast is here.
Even cooler, I’m here, on The Ford Story, What Women Want: All About Car Maintenance.
Also: ROBOTS.
